My name is Dr. Frank W. Collige, and I am honored to announce my candidacy for Florida Chief Financial Officer (CFO). With decades of experience in leadership, business development, financial oversight, and public service, I am ready to bring a bold vision and pragmatic solutions to Florida’s financial future.
From my time serving in the U.S. Air Force, where I was entrusted with safeguarding our nation’s most vital assets, to my leadership roles in the private sector overseeing multi-million-dollar budgets, logistical operations, and regulatory compliance, I’ve dedicated my life to serving others. Along the way, I’ve built businesses from the ground up, expanded operations across state lines, and worked tirelessly to ensure fairness and accountability in the insurance industry.
As the Owner of Property Pros Consulting, I grew the company to operate in six states, managing over 1,000 insurance claims annually. In this role, I gained extensive experience identifying and addressing insurance fraud committed by carriers, contractors, and the insured. I’ve seen firsthand how unethical practices drive up costs for hardworking Floridians, and I’ve worked diligently to protect clients from unfair claim denials, inflated repair costs, and misleading policy practices.
As your CFO, I will focus on three critical priorities:
1. Financial Transparency and Accountability:
Every Floridian deserves to know how their tax dollars are being spent. I will advocate for:
Real-time financial reporting to ensure transparency across all government financial operations.
Stronger auditing practices to detect and prevent misuse or mismanagement of funds.
Increased oversight to prevent waste, fraud, and abuse at every level of state spending.
By implementing these measures, we can restore trust in our financial systems and ensure every dollar is spent responsibly.
2. Insurance Market Stability and Consumer Protection:
Florida’s insurance market is facing significant challenges, with rising premiums, delayed claims processing, and a lack of transparency placing unnecessary burdens on families and businesses. As your Chief Financial Officer, I will focus on:
Advocating for stronger consumer protections to ensure policyholders are treated fairly during the claims process.
Working with stakeholders to stabilize insurance rates and reduce unnecessary cost increases driven by inefficiencies and unethical practices.
Promoting fraud prevention awareness, addressing deceptive practices by carriers, contractors, and policyholders that inflate costs for everyone.
Supporting streamlined claims processes to ensure quicker resolutions and reduced bureaucratic delays.
By prioritizing accountability, transparency, and fairness, we can create an insurance market that works for every Floridian, protecting families, businesses, and our state’s financial future.
3. Disaster Preparedness and Financial Resilience:
Florida is no stranger to natural disasters, and financial preparedness is crucial for minimizing their impact. I will:
Advocate for robust financial planning and reserves to ensure Florida can respond quickly and effectively to disasters.
Enhance public awareness campaigns to educate Floridians on financial preparedness.
Work with state agencies and private partners to ensure faster access to relief funds for affected families and businesses.
With a focus on long-term financial resilience, we can better protect our state from the economic fallout of hurricanes, floods, and other disasters.
Throughout my career, I’ve witnessed how financial mismanagement, unchecked fraud, and a lack of accountability can damage lives, businesses, and entire communities. That’s why I’m running—to ensure that every taxpayer dollar is respected, every insurance claim is handled fairly, and every business in Florida has the opportunity to grow and succeed.
